The Dish: This margarita is super simple but will still give you that great margarita taste. Plus 160 calories for a margarita is not too bad! I included a pinch of salt in the drink to avoid all of the added sodium from a salted rim and it gave that great touch of saltiness. Enjoy!
Serving Size: 1 cocktail | Calories: 160
INGREDIENTS
2 ounces Tequila (For this recipe I like Casamigos Blanco)
1 ounce Fresh Lime Juice (about 1 whole lime, with 1 wedge saved) or buy fresh lime juice in a bottle
1 ounce Water
1 teaspoon sweetness (I like agave but if you don’t have it you can whip up some simple syrup)
1 pinch Salt
DIRECTIONS
If you can’t live without salt on the rim: Pour salt onto a plate or cutting board. Cut a slit in the lime wedge and go around half of the glass being used. Drag the lime-rimmed glass through the sea salt.
Start here if you do not like salt on the rim: Fill glass with ice and set aside.
In a shaker, combine tequila, lime juice, water, agave and a pinch of salt. Fill with ice and shake vigorously for 20-30 seconds.
Pour into ice-filled glass, add lime wedge as a garnish, and enjoy!
